Welcome to CODA UK & Ireland!

Different Stories. Shared Experiences. One CODA Community.

Whether you're young or young at heart, have always known what it means to be a CODA or are just discovering the community, you're in the right place.

We're here to bring Children of Deaf Adults together, celebrate our unique experiences, build friendships and create a place where everyone feels they belong.

What does being a CODA mean?

CODA stands for Child of Deaf Adults.

If one or both of your parents are Deaf, you're a CODA! It doesn't matter how old you are, whether you use sign language or how connected you feel to the Deaf community.

Growing up with Deaf parents can mean having experiences that other people don't always understand. From the funny moments to the challenges, every CODA has a story to tell.

And that's what makes coming together so special.

A Community Built on Belonging

Since 2011, CODA UK & Ireland has been bringing Children of Deaf Adults together to make connections, share experiences and celebrate our heritage.

We believe that every CODA deserves the opportunity to meet others who understand their experiences, feel proud of who they are and know that they're not alone.

Through friendship, peer support, events and activities, we're helping build a community where CODAs of every generation can belong.
